Another important difference is that Crusader HD's AI more or less plays with the same rules you do, whereas Crusader 2's AI cheats up the wazoo and is periodically given free resources, even if you have them completely surrounded. Subjectively, Crusader HD's nice 2d graphics are better than Crusader 2's blocky, jagged looking models, and the first game's engine just feels nicer. Just from looking at the numbers you get way more playtime out of Crusader HD, for a much lower price.

Just a slight update to Stronghold Crusader If you liked the original title, there’s really no reason to not try it out, especially since you get new stuff to play with. One major difference between the two is that, while the former game was set in England, the latest release has the Middle East as its location.
